Why We Are Using Worksheets from HelpTeaching.com

If you are looking for an amazing resource of worksheets, HelpTeaching.com would be perfect for you. I was luckily enough to have the opportunity to review the Help Teaching Pro subscription from HelpTeaching.com. There are so many wonderful resources that come with this yearly subscription, including tests and worksheets, a worksheet generator, online lessons and a test maker.

Tests and Worksheets

We started by using some of the pre-made worksheets, as there are worksheets that cover English/Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies for the ages pre-school up to Grade 12. You can search for worksheets by grade level and/or by subject. It was great to be able to print a worksheet for whatever we were talking about in our lesson for the day. For example, when we were discussing the characteristics of living things, I printed off a worksheet that asked my son to circle all the pictures that are living things.

For reading comprehension, we were able to read a story about a polar bear and then answer some questions relating to what we had just read. There are also some amazing graphic organizer worksheets, such as a concept web that you can print and fill out! These will be perfect for brainstorming sessions. The variety and number of worksheets is incredible, you will never run out of new worksheets to use.

We used the worksheets mostly as pdf files and printed them. They can also be taken as an online test and you can even schedule the test for the future. My son is a bit young to do a test by himself, but I could definitely see us using the test feature in the future.

Worksheet Generator

We had to try the worksheet generator during calving season! We had lots of fun making our own calving word search. I just inputted the words that we wanted to use and it created our own personalized word search! What a great way for learning the alphabet and learning to spell!

You can also make a bingo card, a word bingo card and math worksheets for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. With the addition worksheet, you can specify the number of digits in the numbers to be added, how many questions and the question type. You can then save your worksheet to use again.

Online Lessons

I am looking forward to using the pre-designed online language arts lessons more in September with my son. With the online lessons, you can assign it to your child and monitor how your child is progressing through the testing platform. We tried Read-Aloud, “The Ants Go Marching”. It included a cute little video about the story and then we answered some questions from a worksheet.

There are so many lessons in vocabulary, writing, spelling, reading strategies, pronunciation skills, literature, phonics, and grammar!

Test Maker

With the Help Teaching Pro subscription, you can make an unlimited number of your own tests and worksheets. There are tons of pre-made questions that you can choose from and you can also make your own questions, including choosing from images that are provided or importing your own images. You can then save worksheet/test as a pdf and/or print it. For example, if you want to make a worksheet up about the solar system, you can search by age and topic and find appropriate questions! The options are endless. I can’t wait to use this feature when I am developing my lessons for Grade 1.

I definitely recommend Help Teaching Pro from HelpTeaching.com for any homeschooler. The yearly subscription is very reasonably priced and you can use it in so many ways to help you and your child in your homeschooling journey.
