Disclosure: I received this complimentary product through the Homeschool Review Crew.

Do you have a child struggling in math? Or maybe math wasn’t your favourite subject in school and you are now trying to teach your child while relearning it yourself. Is the math curriculum that you are currently using not feeling like it is a good fit for your child? Maybe you looking for a math curriculum that is all-inclusive? If one of these sound like you, I highly recommend CTCMath for your homeschool. We have spent the past few weeks reviewing a 12-month Family membership to CTCMath.

What is CTCMath?

It is an online math curriculum and provides families with unlimited access to all lessons from grade levels K-12. The lessons include over 1,400 videos that present the math concepts step-by-step in short 4-9 minute long videos.

CTCMath includes all the math concepts that for grades K through sixth grade as well as basic Math & Pre-Algebra, Elementary Measurement, Elementary Geometry, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus and Calculus.

How CTCMath Works

We received a login for both my 5 year old and my 8 year old along with a parent login.

Each lesson includes a short video and then interactive questions or a printable worksheet.   There is also a one-page summary of the lesson that you can print for reference. The fully worked out solution to the problem can then also be printed for reference. This is especially important for the more advanced concepts of math.

In the parent login, there is an in-depth reporting section for you, as the parent, including the ability to assign videos and lessons and the option to have weekly reports emailed to you.  The emailed reports can also be accessed through the parent login.

How We Used CTCMath

There is a diagnostic test that your child can take; however, we choose to just work through all the lessons to give my boys a thorough understanding of all of the math concepts.

We usualy work through a lesson per day for about 5 times per week.

I find that the videos and lessons work very well at giving the boys a good foundation of the skills being taught.  My boys are quite strong in math, so we didn’t need to work through all of the video lessons in detail. Often times, my boys will start on the questions and if they start to have difficulties they will watch the lesson and then go back to the questions. One significant benefit with the 12-month Family membership is that you have access to all grade levels so you can easily work up a grade or down on certain skills if required.

Our Future Plans

We will contunue to use CTCMath this year as our math curriculum. Since my boys are both very strong in math, I love that my boys can work through the lessons at their own pace. If they need more practise, they can do more questions and if they understand the concept well, they can move onto the next topic. The video lessons for CTCMath are excellent at helping them through any areas where they are struggling or need a bit more explanation.

Be sure to read more reviews on CTCMath from other Homeschool Review Crew team members.

This online math curriculum works well for a variety of learning styles and will help to ensure that your child gets a great foundation in math skills. I highly recommend it for all children.

Though I spend most of my days multi-tasking betwe Though I spend most of my days multi-tasking between all the tasks of being a mom, I tend to get my BEST work done outside in the fresh air. There is just no better place to be with three young boys than outside, running off all their energy and living life on the ranch! Who agrees?

We will soon start feeding the cow herd hay as well. But right now, the cow herd is grazing some amazing grass that we had saved for when the snow arrived. We also supplement them with protein tubs to make sure they get sufficient protein as the grass may not have quite enough protein this time of year.

PS - This is one of the photos in our 2023 calendar, which we are now taking orders for.
What a busy week and it’s not over yet! Between What a busy week and it’s not over yet! Between hauling square bales, moving sheep fence, helping the boys with their show projects, checking hay, running the boys back and forth to the tractor for their “turns” baling hay, beef deliveries, tending to the garden, and doing all the other mom tasks, every day has been full. But I wouldn’t have it any other way. Being a mom on the ranch to three incredible boys is so special. Watching their keenness, enthusiasm and love of life is the reason why I do what I do. However. I have to admit, I am not sure how to keep up to their energy level sometimes. They don’t tire out!

This is important so that we can ensure that the animals are healthy and have adequate water and salt.  It is also very necessary to check the condition of the pasture to help us determine when the cattle need to be moved to maintain, and often to continue to improve, the land and the grassland ecosystem.

I felt like I was constantly getting discouraged as we couldn't stop the lambs from getting out of their fenced pasture. Then, I reflected on what I have been learning on social media by watching other sheep producers. This gave me a fresh outlook and I was able to figure out a new solution for all of the sheep to help better manage their large pasture and keep the lambs contained. Everything changed, and all it took was a new perspective. I didn't need to continue doing things the way that I had been. Sometimes we just need a new perspective. Do you agree?
I will be the first to say that I was a bit scepti I will be the first to say that I was a bit sceptical about using electric fence for our sheep as I haven’t had the best experience in the past.  However, I am now 100% confident in using it while increasing our grazing potential for sheep on our operation. We currently use 2 sets of the electronet with the energizer from @fencefast_ .  I was amazed with how well it is keeping the sheep in, even when it is placed within tall grass. It is helping to protect the ewes with lambs from predators and allowing us to rotational graze the pasture. We are resting some areas of the pasture that have been grazed heavier and grazing areas that have a lot of grass that needs to be used.
