As a tradition, we give our children a fun game or activity for their birthday along with a gift that they have been asking for.   They get to open the game or activity in the morning as it is set at the table when they wake up.   I always like to try to find games or activities that will be fun and educational.

Here are five fun gifts that we have purchased for our children and are great for preschoolers!

1. Melissa & Doug Going Places Floor Puzzle – I love giving puzzles as gifts! We can never have too many puzzles in our house.  This set includes four floor puzzles with 12 thick, great quality pieces for each.

2.  Monkey Around Game – I love this game as my two-year-old can even play along.  It contains 40 cards that prompt you to get up, move around and do all sorts of fun movements and actions.  Some examples include high fives, hugs, funny faces, and hopping so it is great for developing your child’s gross motor skills.

3. Melissa & Doug Travel Memory Game – This game is great for a quiet time activity or for travelling.  It comes with 7 double-sided cards and a wooden game board that has 25 flaps and a sliding scorekeeper.  Some of the card topics are about fruit, vehicles, colours, numbers and about the farm.

4. Hape Basic Builder Toddler Wooden Play Set – This set is amazing for stimulating your child’s imagination.  It comes with 42 pieces, including screws, fasteners and links along with a building guide to give a few ideas!  It is perfect for ages 3-5.

5. The Sneaky, Snacky Squirrel Game – This game is great for learning about matching and colours as you must spin the wheel and pick an acorn accordingly.  It is also great for fine motor control as you must use a little squirrel to pick up the acorns and place them in your tray.  This game is best for ages 3 +.

We all make choices every day based on our opinions, interests, and based on what we have seen, heard and experienced. We must remember that when marketing our own farm products. There are lots of cattle operations producing cattle and beef for customers to choose from. You need to develop a relationship and a niche for your own brand/operation. Building this will then form relationships with customers that trust you, know what to expect from you and in turn want to support you.
