We love read aloud time in our home and the LitWits Kits from LitWits have made reading aloud as a family even more fun and interactive. These kits make the book come alive and create a multi sensory experience for your child.  Your child will creating lasting memories about the story that they will treasure for years.

LitWits Kits

There are over 40 LitWits Kits to choose from.  Each LitWits Kit includes ideas for props so your child can touch and feel items relevant to the story, activities and crafts for hands-on fun, prepare and taste food related to the book, play games and practise their acting skills.  There are also handouts, learning links and great quotes included.

The LitWits Kits are accessed through a private web page, and you can also easily print a 30-40 page PDF version of the kit.  Once you have set up a custom account, you can quickly access all of your LitWit Kits for the life of the company.

LitWits Kits Learning Fun

Ideally the kits are for ages 8-12; however, both my 4 year old and my 7 year old thoroughly enjoyed the activities. Sometimes we would slighly adapt the activities for their age. It was nice to be able to include the whole family in the fun!

Charlotte’s Web

We choose to use the LitWits Kit for Charlotte’s Web first.   We started by reading Charlotte’s Web and then we listened to an audio version of the story as well.

We really enjoyed the activities for the kit.  We had fun working on the “My Fair Piggy” project. My boys loved building and painting the crate and loading it into the back of the pickup truck.  This will be a treasured project for years to come.

The prop ideas for Charlotte’s Web help add a sensory component to the book.  We learned about point of view by illustrating Wilbur’s perspective of the world from his pigpen.

We laughed lots when playing the “One Bad Egg” activity, we talked about rotten eggs and had fun pretending how horrible one of our rotten eggs smelled.  We even did a “dump run” and looked through magazines, similar to how Templeton did, to find a word that Wilbur would be worthy of.

More LitWits Kits

We are excited to dive into the LitWits Kit for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.  We are looking forward to painting with chocolate and inventing our very own candy. We will later work through the LitWits Kit for Black Beauty and Around the World in Eighty Days.

In Black Beauty, we will plant wheat grass, find out how tall we are by equine standards while eating food like a horse and many more fun activities.  Around the World in Eighty Days is full of great activities such as posing for passport pictures, collecting visa stamps, tracing our routesaround the globe while following an itinerary.

LitWits Kits from LitWits have become be a staple in our homeschool program. I would love to hear from you on how you use these amazing kits in your homeschool.

We all make choices every day based on our opinions, interests, and based on what we have seen, heard and experienced. We must remember that when marketing our own farm products. There are lots of cattle operations producing cattle and beef for customers to choose from. You need to develop a relationship and a niche for your own brand/operation. Building this will then form relationships with customers that trust you, know what to expect from you and in turn want to support you.
